Tips to Get More Control With Your Dyson Airwrap

After having the Airwrap for 2 months and being able to test it out on all different textures at my studio, and talking with clients and fellow hairstylists, the top complaints I hear from the people who aren’t completely in love with it are:

1.  The hairs blow off the brush and all over the place

2.  Doesn’t last

3.  Results are fluffier, frizzier, or a tighter curl than desired

My personal opinion is that if you have really coarse, curly, or frizzy hair you might have some trouble getting the hair really smooth.  And if you’re not a fan of volume you might not appreciate the fluffy texture you can get with the airwrap attachments.

TO GET MORE CONTROL WITH YOUR DYSON AIRWRAP FOLLOW THESE TIPS:

✨ START WITH YOUR PROBLEM AREAS. YOU DON’T WANT TO LEAVE THEM FOR LAST

✨ BLOW DRY THE TOP HALF OF YOUR SECTIONS FIRST AND DON’T LET GO OF THE ENDS OF EACH SECTION UNTIL IT’S DRY FROM THE ROOT TO THE MIDSHAFT – THEN PASS THROUGH TO THE ENDS

✨ BEGIN WITH THE BRUSH ATTACHMENT COMING IN FROM THE TOP AND MOVING DOWN KEEPING EVERYTHING AS CLOSE TO THE HEAD AS POSSIBLE – NEVER LETTING GO OF THE ENDS -THEN SWITCH TO THE OPEN AIR ATTACHMENT AND WITH TENSION ON THE ENDS STILL PULL THE HAIR DOWN AND AIM THE STREAM OF AIR FROM ABOVE YOUR HEAD DOWN AT THE ROOTS

✨ ALWAYS USE YOUR FREE HAND TO GUIDE THE HAIR AND MAKE IT AS FLAT AGAINST THE BRUSH AS YOU CAN

✨ ROLL THE BRUSH TO GET A BETTER GRIP

✨ ONLY USE THE AIRWRAP ATTACHMENTS FOR THE BOTTOM HALF OF THE SECTION FROM MID-SHAFT TO ENDS

✨ USE THE FLAT BRUSH ATTACHMENT TO LOOSEN THE CURLS AND MAKE THE SILHOUETTE LONGER INSTEAD OF WIDER

Always use a product for heat protection before styling with any hot tools. I love the thermal mist and shine spray from Formula 18.
