One-Step Styler Blowout Tips: Smooth Edition

Here are SOME TIPS if your goal when using a one-step styler or blowout brush is to get it NICE AND SMOOTH:  

▪️ Apply a heat protection product (I used a dime size drop of Formula 18 SHINE serum)

▪️ Same blowout flow as always: (Front hairline first –> Bottom layer –> middle layer –> top layer –> connect all your sections)

▪️ Use the tool on the LOW setting so you have more time to work the hair.  Sometimes if the air flow is too strong it blows the hair around too much and dries it in a position that isn’t ideal.  You want to control the hair.  Slow and steady wins the race.  

▪️ Roll the brush as you move down the hair shaft to keep tension on the section you’re working on.  Rolling is what gets the hair smooth and shiny. 

▪️ Pass over the roots from different angles 2-3x more than you pass over the ends.  You want to make sure you really get the roots where the hair holds more moisture good and dry.  Any moisture left in the hair will result in frizz if you have texture.

▪️ Use your free hand to guide the hair, and keep it controlled around the brush – don’t stop rolling… Connect all your sections so there aren’t separations.

▪️ Finish with an overall cold air blast to seal the hair.
