Some of the con’s to the earlier larger oval editions of the blow dryer brush was that it was bulky and it didn’t really dry the roots of the hair enough. I recently came across a newer model that has become my absolute favorite styling tool.  HOT TOOLS Pro Signature Detachable One Step Round Brush and Hair Dryer, 1.5 inch Barrel 

With these shorter bristles, this model actually gets right to the roots and dries them thoroughly.  It’s great for lifting and gives a lot of volume.  It almost acts as a curling iron.  The smaller barrel is perfect for bangs or shorter lengths.  And the smaller diameter allows for more bend and a loose, soft, curl effect.  

The brush head now detaches for easy storage so it’s not a foot long and fits easily in a drawer.  Which also makes it great for traveling!

I find myself using this to touch up little things quickly, instead of getting out my whole hair dryer and clips and brushes set-up.  Like getting the ridge from a ponytail out.  Or re-touching bangs on day 2.  Or smoothing out after getting caught in the rain.  There are so many times I reach for it and in just a few seconds, I look brand new, and I’m ready to go.  

It’s become way more of a friend than I ever thought it would have!
