Thermal Spray

Heat protection. 

 Today’s styles are hot tool heavy, so I highly recommend using some sort of thermal protectant on your hair before ironing of any kind – flat ironing, curling, wanding.  

Years ago, I used to educate for Sebastian and my favorite product cocktail was to first spray the hair with Trilliance and then Re-Shaper, and flat iron to keep client’s blowouts smooth and hold up in hot temps.  I wanted the heat protection and shine of the trilliance, but with the humidity resistance and holding power of the hairspray.    

Now I’ve found one product that does both – Formula 18 Thermal Spray .  It’s a strong hold thermal protectant spray that’s brushable and leaves the hair shiny and clean-feeling.  It feels slightly sticky when you first get it on the hair because it’s not an aerosol, it’s a pump bottle, and has a wetter initial feel to it.  Don’t get scared.  Just brush through with a paddle brush or wet brush after spraying but before ironing.  Then after ironing, let cool and brush through again.  Add just a drop of F18 Shine for the finish and voila!  Soft curls that stay for days.
