The “Wet Look” Hairstyle Tutorial * wearable version for fine hair + extensions

WET LOOK Hair Tutorial for FINE HAIR + HAIR EXTENSIONS

YouTube vid link: https://youtu.be/FWkjcu2GHcI

Start off with dry hair because we’re totally faking this version of the “wet look”.

100% DRY A.K.A. SAFE hairstyle style for hair extension -wearers.

If you have natural texture in your hair, you can skip this next curling/wanding step and go straight to the serum.

If you need to “fake” having wavy or curly hair because your hair is naturally fine and straight (like mine) cheat with this pre-scrunch prep:  spray with formula 18 thermal mist for hold and heat protection and wand hair into waves with a 1.5” cylinder attachment. I go for a bigger barrel, because I’m going to be adding product and diffusing so if anything I’ll be enhancing this curl and I want it to look very loose and relaxed but just give volume where it’s needed.

This tutorial is my version of the wet-look “liquid” hairstyle made wildly popular on red carpets by icons like Megan Fox and Kim K.  I had always wanted to try it, but having fine hair and wearing hair extensions, I always worried my weave would show,  or worse… scalp. And I would have never, I MEAN NEVER, considered wearing this kind of a “wet look” hairstyle to an event. But I’ve found a way to make it wearable even for the finest, straightest hair or if you’re someone who wears hair extensions like myself.

This is a 100% dry (A.K.A. hair extensions approved!),  NOT actually wet at all, fake version of the wet look liquid hair hairstyle.  It gives the hair body and shine instead of looking limp and flat.  And it can literally take you from girls night out to black tie affair depending on your outfit and accessories.  Or you can rock your Jordans and sweats with this look too. It’s very versatile, it feels fun and new, and it’s easy to do! So I think it’s a nice trick to have in your back pocket come holiday party time… you know what I’m sayin?  (This style easily masks dirty hair,it instantly upgrades any outfit, and so it’s a yes for me all day!)
